Christy’s 21st

February 28, 2010

Yesterday had so many great opportunities for me take a photograph for my photo-a-day challenge that today I haven’t even touched my camera, well if you count this morning at 12:45am while downloading my photos onto computer, then yes I have touched it, but just not to capture a pic :(  Last night was Christy’s 21st Birthday Party.  And what a PARTY it was! She is a *little* quirky and daft so we all had to dress up in something random and quirky, and then we (her large family) even ate pudding first to go along with her daft and quirky theme… it was so delicious that I ate so much and it completely put me off my mains.  Now I know why mothers always say “don’t eat sweets before dinner – you won’t eat your food!” :)

Christy is very creative and so good at making crafty things – she put together these little “survival kits” for her guests:

And she did all the decor and table arrangements! She really transformed my parents’ home and there was a great atmosphere!

The pudding table had a chocolate fountain – see why I didn’t feel like eating my mains – it was all too yummy!!! :)

This is where she gets her quirkiness from:

It was a wonderful evening.

Christy, I pray God will guide and keep you until His Son returns, and I am sure that he will continue to bless you richly!

Lots of Love

A Photo-a-Day

February 27, 2010

So my new challenge is to take a photo-a-day starting off with this morning at my niece’s 2nd birthday party.  I couldn’t decide which one to post, so I put them both up :)  Photographing “sugar-high” children is so different to shooting Newborn Photographs…

The Birthday Girl :)

Rebecca loves Flings chips, its about the only ones she can eat with her allergies

Wow! I have been impatiently waiting to blog these pics from the RE.INVENT workshop, which I have finally edited.  This was THE Wedding photography workshop I had dreamed of, whilst stalking the blogs of Dror Eyal and Andrea Carlyle for the last couple of years… This was a dream come true! Worth the lack of sleep the night before and waking up super early to get to the airport to make my 6:10am flight from Durban to Lanseria.  The workshop was held at the amazing Forum Homini, in the Cradle of Human kind.  Beautiful surroundings with vast open veld – just wish I could’ve stayed on with the group and had more time to go on the location shoot and try my hand at some more sun flare:( I had to avoid the traffic and sadly make my way to the airport.

I did however learn a whole lot in the short time I had to shoot, and I learnt even more from their presentations, and simply by interacting with everyone during the day.  I feel so blessed to have taken part in the workshop.  Can’t wait for my next wedding!

Thanks to everyone involved – it was awesome!:)

Liam’s little family

February 19, 2010

Wow – busy busy busy and running around in this heat doesn’t help either.

Last week Thursday was particularly hot and even hotter under my studio lights, but little Liam coped well.  His Daddy made sure he wasn’t over heating and he kept Liam’s mom & I well hydrated with iced cool drinks!! THANK YOU!

Here are a few pics to wet mom’s appetite :) Enjoy!

What an amazing day!

February 14, 2010

I couldn’t wait for these two to get back from honeymoon before posting any pics from their amazing, beautiful, relaxed, unconventional wedding!  So just one pic for today.

It truly was an amazing day filled with God’s richest blessings and loads of love:)
