Shane & Mandy

July 25, 2010

Shane & Mandy were so blessed on their Wedding Day.  Gorgeous weather for a day to get married.  Supportive friends and family who all chipped in to make their day truly memorable. Their was such an amazing atmosphere when I walked into the reception venue, waiting for the newly married couple after we got back from taking their formal bridal portraits.  And what beautiful stunning photos I have of this couple and all the wedding decor, detail shots, etc, etc.  I really enjoyed myself.  I found it hard to take my camera off Mandy.  She made such an incredible bride!  I couldn’t believe how amazing her hair was, I actually thought she was wearing a hairpiece, as I’ve only ever seen her with her hair tied back.  But no, that is all her own hair.  The style complimented her so well.

These first two images are probably my favourite “bride getting ready” photos ever!  The cute little flower girl is Mandy’s daughter.  Look at her face as she watches her mommy getting dressed.  She thought her mom looked like a “princess” :) I agree!

A Beautiful afternoon

July 20, 2010

This little girl’s mommy contacted me during the previous week wanting to book a shoot so she could record her precious little girl before she started getting too mobile… Now I had forgotten how “mobile” babies actually are even though they aren’t officially crawling, add to the mix a couple of farm dogs and you have loads of movement with plenty of personality.  When I say personality this little one really made me work!  She hardly ever looked directly at me so I was constantly clicking away.  I think all our hard work paid off as I got some amazing portraits of her.  I also captured a few family portraits. The location was stunning – sugar cane, rolling hills, golden winter sun setting, an avenue of trees and a welcoming family home.  I spent a beautiful afternoon inland from Ballito, Durban.

Ah, so precious

Ah, this little shoot was so precious! This mommy won a free photo shoot with me in the Claire Louise Mommy & Me Competition.  It was too special.  We got some fun family portraits, some beautiful baby portraits of her little girl and some absolutely amazing maternity photos!!! I’m left speechless by the beauty of her maternity portraits!

I’m so excited

July 18, 2010

I’m so excited to have clients like this couple! We had so much fun during their engagement shoot yesterday afternoon at the Durban Fun Fare, here are two of my favourite images:) I have had such a busy week end – family shoot on Friday afternoon, then Crawford North Coast Matric Dance at Sibiya Friday evening, another Family shoot Saturday morning and this is how I ended off my Saturday: an engagement shoot with red balloons, which Gitta kindly suggested I take home with me for Rebecca.  Thanks Gitta, she had an absolute ball – running around the house bouncing a balloon off her hand onto her head.  Her hair was so static! :)  To all my other fantastic clients I will blog your sessions soon.

How cute are these baby cheeks?  I just love these baby portraits.  This little tot was just so friendly and as her dad said, such a flirt!  She really was a bag full of laughs but she did not really want to smile the two toofy smile and show off her two front teeth.   So needless to say, her mom got loads of exercise yesterday morning while doing star jumps behind me to make her laugh.  There is one pic showing off the two teeth.

What a beautiful day it was at the Durban Botanical Gardens.  It was so peaceful.  We went exploring and found some awesome spots for photos.  This shoot was actually a “thank you gift” for this couple – I love it when people contact me wanting to give a voucher as a gift.  How awesome, to receive a gift voucher for a photo shoot.
