Last week I had an unexpected Newborn Photo Shoot.  I knew this little guy’s mom was pregnant but I didn’t know he had arrived!  Last week end we went to a friend’s birthday braai and I saw his Daddy holding this teeny tiny little bundle, no it couldn’t be – I thought to myself.  But yes, it was – he had arrived early as he couldn’t wait to meet his loving mom and his oh so proud dad! :)  So we chatted and oohed and ahed and it came up in the conversation that I was a photographer and more specifically a Newborn photographer in the greater Durban area.  It just so happened that they were thinking of having a photoshoot but hadn’t booked with anyone.  So we chose a date and I had a very pleasant and unexpected Newborn Photo Shoot!  He was soooo good – and so co-operative.  Can’t wait for you guys to see the rest of the photos especially the studio styled ones – will post some soon…

loving mom newborn

Yesterday I spent the morning with Candice and her husband.  I studied Fine Art with Candice and over the years we’ve celebrated all the important milestones in each other’s lives, engagement parties, weddings, my baby shower and now her pregnancy.  I was so excited to photograph her maternity shoot at the Botanical Gardens in Durban :) We took a few shots there and then went back to their home to finish off the shoot, before we had to get ready for her Baby shower in the afternoon.  Looking at this image you can clearly see that it was a Maternity shoot filled with love! I can’t wait to meet their little boy in the next few weeks :) More photos to come soon.

This Newborn & family photo shoot was very special to me, as the first time I photographed this little family I was 8 months pregnant.  I was so excited to see what Ben looked like as I had taken his Newborn photos about 17 months ago.  Ben’s new little brother is just as cute and again I was amazed at how relaxed mom & dad were.  I looked back at some photos from Ben’s shoot and couldn’t believe how similar they are.  We tried to copy a few poses from Ben’s shoot and I think mom will be happy, I just hope the date of the prints doesn’t fade so that in years to come she’ll know who is who in which photograph.

Look at how gorgeous Ben is!

Introducing Ben’s little brother Joshua :) Too precious -ah!

I’m not going to lie, this was a difficult shoot – what do you expect with a Newborn and a 17 month old?  At one stage I even had a green play-dough worm “wriggling” around on my head to get Ben’s attention :)  I think I got some beautiful portraits all things considered…

Ah, so precious

Ah, this little shoot was so precious! This mommy won a free photo shoot with me in the Claire Louise Mommy & Me Competition.  It was too special.  We got some fun family portraits, some beautiful baby portraits of her little girl and some absolutely amazing maternity photos!!! I’m left speechless by the beauty of her maternity portraits!

Here are some beautiful photos from Sadie’s Newborn shoot.  Such a pretty little girl, amazing how girls look like girls and boys like boys but there’ll always be someone who thinks its a boy even though you’ve dressed your little girl in pink… Its happened to me on more than one occasion:)

I just LOVE these Newborn portraits!! and I know her mummy loves them to! :)

I am so thankful

I am so thankful for being blessed with my talent.  I love what I do :) Capturing beautiful memories for other people to look back on.  I’m sure this little guys mom & dad will fondly look back on these images and be reminded of the warm fuzzy feeling of infinite love they felt when he entered the world.  I’m not going to say anything more, except that these are some of my best Newborn baby portraits yet!   I hope you guys enjoy my “arty” images of your precious gift from God.
