Shane & Mandy

July 25, 2010

Shane & Mandy were so blessed on their Wedding Day.  Gorgeous weather for a day to get married.  Supportive friends and family who all chipped in to make their day truly memorable. Their was such an amazing atmosphere when I walked into the reception venue, waiting for the newly married couple after we got back from taking their formal bridal portraits.  And what beautiful stunning photos I have of this couple and all the wedding decor, detail shots, etc, etc.  I really enjoyed myself.  I found it hard to take my camera off Mandy.  She made such an incredible bride!  I couldn’t believe how amazing her hair was, I actually thought she was wearing a hairpiece, as I’ve only ever seen her with her hair tied back.  But no, that is all her own hair.  The style complimented her so well.

These first two images are probably my favourite “bride getting ready” photos ever!  The cute little flower girl is Mandy’s daughter.  Look at her face as she watches her mommy getting dressed.  She thought her mom looked like a “princess” :) I agree!

An Intimate day

June 13, 2010

Dror Eyal had asked me to second shoot for Ben Viljoen at a Durban wedding last month.  It was an intimate day with I think only about 14 guests.  After seeing how relaxed this day was I can highly recommend a picnic style wedding to any future bride.

A Romantic Wedding

May 19, 2010

A romantic wedding – yes I know all weddings have an air of romance, but this wedding was different.  There was sun, rain, hail, thunder, lightning, laughter, joy, tears and love. Love floated around amongst good friends and family whilst they enjoyed the celebrations amidst an impressive thunder storm and torrential down pour.  It was an Italian wedding at a beautiful venue in the Natal Midlands called La Lampara.  The attention to detail was stunning, crystal glasses, little bird cages with fairy lights – the venue was breathtaking.  The bride beautiful and the groom handsome – what more could a wedding photographer want :)

God knows exactly how much we can handle and he sends us just the right trials for every stage of life.  This couple had so many trials and hardships to bear in the week leading up to their wedding. But this bride & groom rocked! God knew they could do it and I’m sure he will be with them as they begin their new life together.  We had so much fun despite the rain. Yes it even rained on their wedding day after Durban had experienced a week of warm sunshine.  The more I kept reassuring the bride about how lovely the lighting will be and at least she wouldn’t be shimmering in her sweat if it were hot –  the more she kept saying, “Yes, and that’s what brides who get married on sunny days say to brides who have rain on their wedding day!”  What a beautiful day God blessed you with :)

Wedding photographs

Here are some more beautiful wedding photographs from Jonathan & Anchen’s special day.  Her Bridal portraits were exquisite, had to really hold myself back from posting too many photos.

How creative and beautiful is this last image?  Wow! I mean who else gets to have some formal Bridal portraits taken with a ballerina? and even better, the ballerina is your sister who danced a special dance for you and your Bride during the reception?  I’m printing this onto canvas and finding some wall space to hang it in my new office :)

Arg the weather was so dull and dreary come 4 o’clock on Monday afternoon after there had been glorious sunshine all morning :(  We still met for their engagement shoot and to discuss the Wedding details and times etc.  They’ll be tying the knot in a week and a half time.  So exciting:) Can’t wait to photograph the beautiful bride, imagine how stunning she will be on her wedding day, I mean look at her here – gorgeous!
